First game against Ely:
The lads started in a very positive manner for the first game of the season by beating an inexperienced Ely side 20-0. Scorers were: Nick with 7, Colin with 4, Jake with 4, Adam with 4 and Michael with 1. By half time the lads were well ahead and making some good passing moves resulting in great goals. The second half was very much the same with Ely getting tired and Letchworth pressing on for more and more goals. The team defended really well, keeping the ball mostly in Elys half making goalkeeper Michaels job very easy as he had very few touches of the ball to make.

Second game against Peterborough:
This game wasn’t so easy but the lads stuck to the agreed game plan and passed the ball around well eventually winning 5-1. Scorers were: Nick with 2, Adam with 2 and Jake with 1. Again the lads defended very well and Michael had to make some good saves in order to keep peterborough at bay.

Third game against Norwich:
This game proved to be the most difficult as Norwich had some good players who were very determined and came back at us towards the end of the first and start of the second halfs.We eventually won 8-4, the scorers being Adam with 4 and nick with 4. Michael was again kept busy in goal fending off a barrage of desperate shots from the opposition but the whole team had a real buzz about them from the previous two wins and weren’t about to lose this one.

Goalkeeper Michael also played two and a half games in goal for the eastern counties select team and although was very tired at the end of the day said he enjoyed it. He slept well that night as you can imagine after 2 hrs and 45 mins of goalkeeping.

Very well done to all players and im sure you all went home with a smile on your faces.The next Minors match is at home on the 8th Oct at the priory ! ‘Our Last’ at this venue!!!!!!!!
