Minors EC Select tournament at Manningtree 27-1-07
Just a brief report.
Jake Mansfield and Adam Allinson (LRHC Minors) continued their support of the EC select team by taking part in the Minors Cup Qualifiers held at Manningtree Sports Centre on the 27th January 2007. Unfortunately Frankie is still unable to play due to broken bones, so get well soon.
EC played in pool A against Kings Lynn, Ely A, and Colchester.
They won the first game against Colchester 7-1 with Adam scoring one for the team. Both teams played well with some good passing and movement. Colchester’s keeper prevented the score line from becoming wider by saving numerous attempts on goal.
The second game against Kings Lynn was a little different, EC lost 5-0. Kings Lynn played really well as a team and they all played at a good standard. The keeper was also big and strong. EC played well but the difference in the team play and the ability of the keeper kept Kings Lynn on top. A good game to watch.
The third game against Ely A was also a good game to watch, albeit EC lost 14-2. Adam scored both goals, but the ability of the two Letchworth boys, Jake and Adam pulled the team together.
EC came 3rd within their group and finished up playing against Cottenham in their final game during the 2nd phase of the tournament. I am glad to say we won 7-0, Jake scoring 1 and Adam 3. Adam and Jake played defensive roles during most of the games and were given the luxury in this game of trying to set most of the other EC team mates up with a goal.
A long but enjoyable day out, I know the boys enjoyed it.
Well done to EC and well done to Jake and Adam. Hope to see Frankie back in the team soon.
Cheers
Kevin.
